History AVX was established in 1998 in the Los Angeles area by Patrick Calderone and Steve Merrick. We specialize in high performance, easy to use Audio/Video and Home Theater systems. We bring decades of experience in design and installation of distributed music, media rooms & home theaters with emphasis on convenient and easy to operate control systems.

Steven Merrick Steve started in the Audio/Video/Computer industry in the late 70s with a deep appreciation for accurate performance of Music and Home Theater and an idea that computers would be playing a big role in the home entertainment system. Always looking for ways to make home entertainment more enjoyable and easier to use, Steve began designing systems with multi-room capability and single remote operation. After more than 20 years and hundreds of residential installations, he is considered a veteran in the field of home electronics and has created many design concepts used today. Patrick Calderone Patrick started in the Audio/Video and Automation industry in 1990. Working a full time job as an installer, he also studied electronics in college. Soon learning that this industry was more than just wiring up high end stereo systems. Realizing this, Patrick began to focus on subjects like design, ease of use, aesthetics and just simply what the client’s needs were. Now with over 15 years in the custom installation end of the industry, and having worked on projects all over the world including Australia, New Zealand, Saudi Arabia, England, and all over the United States he looks forward to serving our clients to their highest standards.
